Description
Movement Quality Program
Why is movement quality important?
Our bodies love to compensate to take the path of least resistance. By doing this often we create movement patterns and postures that make our bodies move less efficiently without us even knowing it! For example if we have lack of mobility in one area this may lessen mechanical efficiency and quality of movement. And, because we are resilient we compensate as much as possible to work our way around this mobility deficit, leading to inefficient movement, and/ or energy leaks and/or injury.
The Movement Quality Home Assessment is designed for anybody who is interested in knowing if their body is moving efficiently and effectively. It will help you identify specific areas that need attention to help you move and feel better in life and sport and to help decrease risk of injury. The assessment requires you to perform basic movements and score yourself a “yes” or a “no” on your assessment sheet. Once the areas that need improvement are identified, specific exercises in the Exercise Library will help you to correct compensation or movement dysfunctions which are the exercises you scored a “no” on. These will be your “pre-hab” exercises that you can do before your workout or 3-4x per week until the movement improves. PreHab exercises are specific exercises that aim to restore biomechanical integrity and improve an individual’s Movement Quality, ultimately reducing the risk of injury, enhancing performance, and increasing an individual’s longevity in a given sport, activity, or general movement. PreHab exercises help counter the negative effects of repetitive movements that occur in an individual’s sport, training, or lifestyle, as well as helps an individual correct his or her own compensation patterns and movement dysfunctions. With compensation patterns we get energy leaks leading to decreased efficiency. Lets patch up those leaks and perform our best in life and sport.
The Exercise Library includes:
- 14 Exercise Programs to match and improve each Movement in the Movement Quality Home Assessment. All programs are directed with videos
- SMR (self myofacial release), foam roller and ball rolling to improve circulation, reduce muscle and muscle facial tightness specific to what you need
- Focused stretches to help mobilize the area indicated on your assessment
- Muscle Activation exercises to recruit your muscles and have them work more efficiently
- Stabilization, core and integrated exercises to build a strong foundation
Baseline Assessment for Movement Quality
Movement quality is so important, assess Elite athletes, recreational athletes and fitness enthusiasts. For athletes post season mid season and pre season. Important for everyone to get a baseline check for movement quality to in every now and again. Check in to see if you have the basics of position and posture to accept new training loads or simply to move easier. People find that when they do the little bit of work it takes to clean up movement and get into better postures they throw out comments like “it just feels so much easier”
Segment Approach
Mobility, postural, neuromuscular and strength deficits or restrictions not only effect the surrounding area but areas above, below and around the restriction. I use the segmental approach to describe this.

The Movement Quality Home Assessment
So it is clear that it is important to identify if you actually need corrective exercises and which ones do you need and where do you need to focus your attention. Why guess what you need when you can find out what you need.
The Movement Quality Home Assessment will help you identify specific areas that need attention to help you move and feel better in life and sport and to help decrease risk of injury. How do I do it?

So, lets assess and not guess what we need to do to move efficiently. Go ahead and take the little amount of time to Patch up any energy leaks that will ultimately reduce the risk of injury, enhance performance, and increase your longevity in a given sport, activity, or general movement.
