Inactive Fitness challenge


This is a fitness challenge for people who are inactive or fitness beginners that need a jolt to get them going.  It is designed for men or women 40 years old + who exercise NO MORE THAN 30 minutes per week, 3 DAYS PER WEEK.

It is a scientifically based program providing a systematic, periodized 12 week program consisting of a combination of strength training and cardiovascular (treadmill, bike or elliptical) in the gym. You will be exercising 5 days a week alternating strength and cardiovascular training.

There are 2 assessments you will do before and after the program: Cardiovascular testing on a treadmill and Strength testing using dumbbell weights. You must have access to these. You assess where your cardiovascular fitness levels are and will find out where you fit into population “norms”. You will test your strength and use your testing results to safely guide you in which weight amounts you should use during the program.
